Athlete of the Week 9/17/16 - Devin DeMeritt ‘17 - Duxbury - Football
Duxbury running back Devin DeMeritt '17 is our Week 2, Mass Prep Stars Athlete of the week for the 2016-2017 athletic year.
DeMeritt amassed an impressive 340 yards on 10 touches, to go with five touchdowns (3 rushing and 2 receiving), in a 49-13 win over Barnstable.
After missing much of the 2015 season with an injury, DeMeritt has exploded on the scene in 2016, giving the high-octane Duxbury (2-0) offense a fantastic ground-game to compliment their elite passing attack, which is led by senior quarterback Bobby Maimaron '17 and wide receiver Ryan Reagan '17.
After two games, the 6-foot-1 running back is off to a torrid start, as he is a state leader with eight touchdowns on the short season.
The 2016 Mass Prep Stars & First String Performance Preseason Super Team member and the Dragons are back in action this Friday night, as they travel to Whitman-Hanson for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
