Young Townies get all they can handle with Snowden
The Charlestown Townie's roster is filled with young players who are naturally going to take time to get used to High School basketball. They start 2 freshmen; 6'3 wingman Omar Orrioles and 6'1 point guard Ramone Gibbons. They are joined in the starting lineup by 2 seniors in 6'3 post player Jose Richiez and 6' guard Steve Rosemond. Rounding out the starting lineup is super sophomore Akosa Maduegbunam.
The Townies got up early on Snowden and were led by Maduegbunam's multiple NBA distant three pointers and a thunderous breakaway dunk. They maintained a small lead at the half but it was truly a battle throughout the game as Charlestown showed their youth and let Snowden back in the game on multiple occasions.
Charlestown prevailed in the end 70-66 and gained valuable minutes for their young players. Coach Edson Cardoso has a young and talented offensive squad that could be dangerous toward the end of the year if they buy into the team defense philosophy
