Mass Elite Wins Local NUC 7-on-7 Championship

Team Mass Elite

MARION, Mass. -- Team Mass Elite went 3-1 on Saturday and finished the day with an 18-13 victory over Tabor to win the 2015 NUC Regional Combine/ 7-on-7 Championship at Tabor Academy.

Leominster high school sophomore Noah Gray '17 threw five touchdowns on the day, including one to teammate and fellow LHS star Derek Franks '16 , to lead the offensive attack for Mass Elite. Leominster was also represented well on the defensive side of the ball as Kyle Jackson '16 came up with a big interception and teammates Travis Storm '17 and Keith Jackson '16 also excelled on defense for Mass Elite.

Junior Domenic Cozier '16 of Milton Academy was an explosive offensive star for Mass Elite this weekend, grabbing three touchdown receptions on seven catches. Cozier's Milton Academy teammate Freddy Okito '17 also had two touchdown catches.

Brookline's Max Bochman '16 pitched in with a strong offensive performance of his own, as the junior hauled in three touchdown catches on five receptions and was consistent in getting separation on his routes throughout the day.

BC High was also well represented on the day. William Johnson '16 had key several catches and his brother Matthew Johnson '16 had an important pass knockdown on the other side of the ball. Isaiah Miranda '16 had an interception to go with a number of key stops and junior signal caller Marco King '16 was on the money with six touchdown passes on the day.

Peabody's dynamic running back, Doug Santos '16 had two touchdowns on the day, including the final touchdown to ice the championship. Santos was accompanied by the strong play of his backfield mate, sophomore Sean Noel Jr. '17 of Bridgewater Raynham, who made several key plays for first downs.
