Athlete Spotlight: Duval Paul ‘17 - Everett (MA) Football
Duval Paul '17 - Everett

The Everett High School football program is traditionally one of the richest programs in Massachusetts and throughout New England. Head Coach John DiBiaso and staff have advanced an established program that has forged such a consistent tradition of excellence and winning expectation, that a 5-5 record and a D1 North Title appearance is an anomaly.

Everett, however, returns a stellar senior class this fall, led by a veteran group, who battled through adversity last season to make a spirited run at Gillette.

One of those senior stalwarts is Defensive End Duval Paul ’17. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Defensive End exploded on the scene last year and is determined to help lead Everett back to prosperity this season.

“My main focus going in to this season is to stay focused, support my team by any means, and do my job,” Paul told Mass Prep Stars. “As a team we have been making progress every day and we are trying play the best football we can play from the moment that ball is kicked off, to the last whistle. We have the best coaching staff in the state and I think we are going to have an amazing season this year.”

Paul, known for his explosiveness off the line of scrimmage and relentless pursuit of the football, registered an impressive 56 tackles, 5 sacks and one fumble recovery in 2015. Paul's burst is evident from his excellent junior film (below).

It is clear that Paul is determined to improve upon his junior season, in addition to helping lead the prideful Everett program back to the promise land.

“Being from Everett is the best feeling,” Paul said. “The supporters and fans that we have behind us, not just football, but all our sports, clubs, and other extracurricular activities, are the best. The rich tradition of Everett football rings bells throughout the state and because of that, people have very high expectations of us. We use that as motivation and to try to continue the Crimson Tide football tradition and be the best players and team that we can be.”

Paul and Everett open their schedule with a MUST-SEE match-up with Xaverian, this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hawk Bowl in Westwood.
