Athlete of the Week 11/14/16 - Jack McGowan ‘17 - Catholic Memorial - Football
Catholic Memorial linebacker Jack McGowan '17 turned in one of the top individual defensive efforts of the season on Friday night, as the Harvard-bound senior made 25 tackles, to go with one interception in CM's 26-21 win over Marshfield in a non-playoff, D1 contest.
McGowan is finishing his high school career in spectacular fashion, as he preceded Friday night's effort with one of the best two-way games of the year in a narrow 34-29 playoff loss to league rival Xaverian.
The Pre-Season Super Team Nominee had 138 yards receiving, to go with two touchdowns and 18 tackles.
McGowan and Catholic Memorial (6-4) will conclude their season on Thanksgiving Day with a match-up at rival BC High.
