CAMBRIDGE -- BB&N senior running back Zach Cyr put his durability and toughness on full display on Saturday, as he scored three touchdowns and touched the ball over 30 times, helping lead BB&N to a 38-24 homecoming day victory over Belmont Hill on Saturday.
Matt Bulman also had a big day for the Knights, recording a rushing touchdown and a pick-six.
Justin O’Neil-Riley led Belmont Hill with 11 receptions for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Greg Desrosiers added the highlight touchdown of the day for BH, with a 30-yard TD run midway through the second quarter.
BB&N led 17-10 after the third quarter but a long clock-killing drive capped off by Cyr’s third touchdown of the day with 4:33 to play made it a 24-10 game. The Knights recovered a fumble off the ensuing kickoff and Bulman punched it in from a yard out five plays later to make it a 31-10 game.
Belmont Hill QB Mike Piazza hooked up with O’Neil-Riley for an 11-yard touchdown on the ensuing drive to make it a one-score game at 31-17, followed by a successful onsides kick. Bulman would put the nail in the coffin, however, with a 74-yard pick-six on the first play of the ensuing Belmont Hill possession, and the Knights prevailed.
