NEWTON – Newton South used a balanced offensive attack and capitalized on some big plays, as they improved to 2-0 on the young season, with a 29-20 victory over Brookline (1-1).
The talented trio of quarterback Austin Burton ’17, wide receiver Anthony DeNitto ’16 and running back Jamyre Soberanis ’16 all factored in to the scoring column to help pace the Lions, who outscored Brookline 15-7 in a crucial third quarter of play.
Brookline was led by star senior Max Bochman ’16, who ran for 170 yards and three touchdowns. Bochman continues to show why he is rated as one of the top playmakers in Massachusetts.
