Central Catholic stayed on top of our Massachusetts Fab 15 rankings with a 59-56 win over Andover Thursday night.

The Andover gymnasium was packed for senior night and the atmosphere was electric for this MVC rivalry showdown.

The teams would not disappoint the standing room only crowd as they battled back and forth, taking each other's best runs and answering.

Central led at the half 27-20 behind 11 points from senior center Jimmy Zenevitch '11 and 10 points from guard Luis Puello '12. Andover senior Joe Bramanti (pictured below) scored 12 of his team high 22 points in the first half.

The third quarter would be all Andover as they turned up the defensive pressure and outscored Central Catholic 22-4 in the quarter to take a 42-31 lead into the fourth.

The fourth was all Central Catholic as Zenevitch scored 14 of his game high 26 points to launch the Red Raiders into the 56-53 lead with less than a minute to play.

Andover would dig deep and find an answer as junior guard Craig Luschenat '12 hit a contested corner three with 12 seconds remaining to tie the game at 56.

Central Catholic senior guard Jaycob Morales would then end it as he took a Puello pass and calmly drained the buzzer beating three as time expired.

"I had a lot of confidence in the shot," said Morales. "We talked about it in the huddle and we were not going to take a selfish shot. We were only going to take a good shot. I saw Bramanti go help and I knew Luis would find me because we have such good communication. I just let it go and it went in."
