McAllister Talks UConn Commitment
Brice McAllister '14 - Suffield Academy

Suffield Academy (CT) running back Brice McAllister '14 made his future college destination known on Monday as he announced that he had verbally committed to the University of Connecticut.

The East Longmeadow, Mass. native and Mass Prep Stars 2012 Prep / Prvate School Player of the year chose UConn over a number of recent suitors.

"I went out to dinner this past Friday with my family and really just looked at all my options and felt that Uconn had the most to offer me on and off the field," McAllister told Mass Prep Stars. "From day one I wanted to stay home and close to my family so they could support me and UConn is not too far from home."

McAllister helped lead Suffield to a 2012 Norm Walker Bowl title this season as Suffield (12-0) defeated Proctor (NH) 34-16.

Individually McAllister was a standout all season for Suffield as the rising senior back ran for 1,723 yards and caught 11 passes for 262 more. He also totaled 28 touchdowns and returned kicks and punts and played in the defensive backfield for Suffield.

"Its a great feeling to have this settled before my senior year so now I can go in with worries or stress and focus on the season and getting better," McAllister explained.

Our Mass Prep Stars No. 10 ranked player (and rising) in the Class of 2013 McAllister is itching to get back on the gridiron for his final run at Suffield.

"I am really excited about my final season at Suffield," McAllister said. "I feel that we have a very dangerous team on both sides of the ball. I know the competition in the league will be high as usual, so the quicker we can come together as a family it will only help with our success. Ending my time at Suffield in a big way would mean a lot because of everything I have been through with the core group of guys, since day one, including Chrsitian Wilkins, CJ Moore, Tahj Herring, Drew Mahoney, and Trent Bellows."
