Griffin Beal ‘16 - Pingree - 2015 Football
Griffin Beal '16 - Pingree School

Pingree School quarterback Griffin Beal '16 has been on quite a run this season, as the senior helped lead the Highlanders to an impressive 59-14 victory over Proctor Academy (NH) on Saturday. Beal tossed five touchdown passes, ran for one and returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown in the win.

"Going into the game we knew that it was a must win in order to keep our chance at a bowl game alive," Beal told Mass Prep Stars. "From the bus ride to the final whistle we played with great energy and executed in all aspects of the game."

Beal connected with his favorite target, Justin Assad '16 three times for scores and he totaled 324 yards (257 passing, 67 rushing), as Pingree improved to 5-2 on the season.

"My success on offense comes from the work of our Offensive Line," Beal added. "I barely had any pressure the entire game and the line was successfully picking up all there blitzes throughout the game. I think we have the best offensive line in the state and the average weight of my line is 260 pounds. Our wide receivers also played great, I have two 6-foot-4 wide receivers, who have amazing hands and great athletic ability in Justin Assad and Jackson Latimer."

Pingree has two more NEPSAC games remaining, along with a battle against Masconomet Regional High School on Thanksgiving Day. They begin their stretch run this Saturday, as they host the Hyde School (ME) at 2 p.m.

"We are expecting to win our remaining two games with the hopes of making a bowl game," Beal added. "The coaching staff has been amazing this year and they are pushing us to the best of our ability in practice and in games."

Beal has been excellent all season with cumulative offensive states through seven games of: 105-for-161 for 1,770 Passing Yards and 25 Touchdowns. Rushing - 75 attempts for 765 Rush Yards and 9 Touchdowns.
