2018 Mass Prep Stars & First String Performance Gridiron Super Teams & Players of the Year
Wellington Pereira ’19 - Wayland

Mass Prep Stars & First-String Performance joined forces once again in 2018, with our 5th Annual All-State Gridiron Super Team.

Student-athletes from across the Bay State were selected by the Mass Prep Stars and First-String Performance staff, along with recommendations from local area scouts, coaches, and media representatives.

This postseason proved again to be one of our most challenging ones yet, as we attempted to narrow down hundreds of deserving student-athletes to form the only post-season Massachusetts all-state team who selects and combines student-athletes from a pool which includes every eligible interscholastic team (public and private) in Massachusetts. We have studied and analyzed countless video highlights, talked to many trusted coaches, viewed lists of statistics, and heard recommendations from numerous sources, in order to select our teams.

We continued to include postgraduates, as we did last season, for the second time, due to the continued number of private school reclassifications, which has made it difficult to distinguish between classes. As always this makes the teams extremely difficult to make, thus leaving many qualified student-athletes off again.

The "Athlete" positions, on both sides of the ball, were named due to the student-athletes versatility and ability to translate to numerous positions on the football field, along with the overflow of nominees at their position.

Mass Prep Stars and Clutch Kicks and Mass Prep Stars also collaborated on our expanded Kicking Specialist Positions and new Private and Public Players of the Year for 2018.

We lead off with our Mass Prep Stars football athletes of the year and follow with our First, Second and Third Teams.

2018 Mass Prep Stars and First-String Performance Public School Players of the Year - Mike Sainristil ’19 – WR/DB – Everett

The 2018 Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year and the University of Michigan commit had another fantastic season in Everett, as he dominated on both sides of the ball, as a standout WR, a ball-hawking DB.

2018 Mass Prep Stars and First-String Performance Private School Player of the Year – Rayshawn Boswell ’19 – QB/DB – Berkshire School

The New York native made a huge impact on the Berkshire School program the past two seasons, earning back-to-back NEPSAC Class B Player of the Year honors while leading the Berkshire to a 2017 Bowl win and a 14-2 overall record in his two seasons. An exceptional athlete, Boswell starred as a signal caller and DB for Berkshire.
