2012 Football Notes: 10 Top Performers in Week 10
With only a couple weeks remaining in the season we have our 2nd to last “Ten Top Performers” List of the 2012-2013 season. Our final list will be posted after Thanksgiving with some highlights from post-season action coming after.

"10" Top Performances
Goffstown QB Connor Benjamin ’14 was named our New England Prep Stars athlete of the week. Benjamin had 468 all-purpose yards in a 54-53 OT win over No. 1 seed Sohegan on Saturday. Benjamin also scored six TDs (4 passing, 2 rushing) and added three 2-point conversions (including the game winner in OT).
Not to be outdone was our next nine to shine:
Andrew Smiley ’14 QB – St. John’s Shrewsbury (MA) – Smiley entered into the record books in a 41-39 win over Milford. Through the air he was 28 of 43 for 417 yards and three touchdowns; on the ground, he carried 15 times for 123 yards and a fourth score.
Jonathan Thomas ’14 RB St. John’s Prep (MA) – The junior (pictured above) continues to put up impressive numbers as he ran for 172 yards and two TDs along with 31 yards receiving in a big win over 21-16 win over BC High.
Will Heikkinen ’13 WR –Andover MA) – the wide receiver/defensive back had three interceptions and grabbed five catches for 110 yards and two TDs in just one half of play as Andover defeated Billerica 40-20.
Brendan Flaherty ’13 RB – Beverly (MA) – Flaherty helped Beverly reach the playoffs by defeating Marblehead 36-14 as he rushed for 191 yards and two touchdowns with an incredible 152 yards coming in the third quarter.
Manny Latimore ’14 RB Pinkerton Academy (NH) – Latimore had his best game of the season as the junior ran for 206 yards and five touchdowns in a 40-20 D1 semi-final win over Nashua South.
Andrew Libby ‘14 – Thornton (ME) – Libby ran for all three touchdowns and 133 yards as Thornton upset Cheverus’ 27 game winning streak in the Area finals 20-13 on Saturday.
Stephen Barmore ‘14 QB - Southington (CT) – Barmore threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Corbin Garry as time expired as Southington remained undefeated with a 13-12 win over Manchester. Barmore completed 17 passes for 230 yards and a Td and also added a 7-yard TD on the ground in the win.
Anthony Francis ‘13 – QB – La Salle (RI) –Francis tossed three TD passes and also ran for a score as he led La Salle Academy to a 28-7 win over two-time defending state champion Bishop Hendricken.
Mackay Lowrie ’13 QB– Roxbury Latin (MA) – Completed 12 passes for 239 yards and four TDs in a 35-0 win over Rivers. Lowrie also broke the all-time ISL' single-season touchdown pass record as he finished his season with 35.
