Ten Top Football Performers for Week 1 - 2013

Welcome to our first week of coverage for the 2013 Massachusetts football season as we highlight 10 of the top performances in Massachusetts for the prior weekend of action. This week we get started with a balanced offensive and defensive representation.

"10" Top Performances
Kyle Wisnieski ’14 of Mansfield was named our first MAPS player of the week for his efforts in a 29-26 win over Dunbar. Read more about Wisnieski’s stellar performance here,
Not to be outdone was our next nine to shine:
Cameron McMillian ’14 – QB - Cambridge – The dual threat first-year signal caller completed 5-of-9 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 159 yards on the ground in a 45-20 win over Greater Lawrence.
Christian Perez ’14 – RB – Northeast – Perez exploded for 240 yards and two rushing touchdowns in a 42-28 win over Manchester-Essex.
Ian Kessel ’16 – RB – The sophomore rushed for 155 yards o 26 carries and scored all three of Haverhill’s touchdowns in a 21-19 win over Beverly.
James Sullivan ’14 RB – Tewksbury – Sullivan did it all for the Redmen in their opening night 27-6 win over Chelmsford. The senior ran for 90 yards and two touchdowns, had a big Interception, a sack and multiple drive ending QB hurries.
Jordan Bolarinho ’14 - QB - Billerica – Bolarinho (pictured) led Massachusetts in passing yards in week one as he threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns in a in a 48-26 loss to Burlington. He found his new favorite target Jeff Trainor ’16, 12 times on the night for 174 yards and two scores.
Josh Palmer ‘14 – DT - Everett – Palmer was named the player of the game by ESPN Boston for his work in a 31-23 win over Springfield Central. The senior had two sacks and a forced fumble and was a force all evening and down the stretch.
Matt D’Attilio ‘13 - DB – North Attleboro (MA) – The senior DB had 15 tackles, two sacks and also forced a fumble in NA’s 20-12 win over BC High.
Shane Farley ’14 - QB – Burlington – Farley had 14 completions for 225 yards to go with five touchdown passes in a 48-26 win over Billerica.
Spencer Tyler ‘14 – QB –Dennis-Yarmouth – ESPN Boston’s player of the week, Tyler went 9-of-15 through the air for 180 yards two TDs and 1 INT. He also rushed for 139 yards on 14 carries in a 37-9 win over Barnstable.
